China is an agricultural superpower, and the Chinese people are a group deeply rooted to the land. Following the Reform and Opening-up, the uneven economic development and unstable structural transformation have led to highly cyclical and limited population mobility in China. Through this work, I aim to show audiences how Chinese ideology is specifically influenced by agricultural mindsets, and demonstrate the unique social fabric of China that has emerged from this foundation.
